This week has been a big week for Scotland with Brexit going into effect on January 31st and the calls for a new referendum for Scottish independence. Things are feeling shaky. And there are lots of strong, mixed feelings about the government.
But – however unstable the atmosphere and politics of Scotland may be right now, the Gospel remains as unshakable as ever.
Praise God that the schemes of Scotland are as much in the power of God’s hand as they ever were and ever will be. No man, no government, no evil, no height or depth, no fragile times, no nothing can stop His Gospel. Praise be to God.
We have a sure foundation in Christ and a reason to press on in ministry throughout the shakiest of times – pray that what is temporal would not discourage or distract us from what is eternal!
Ways you can pray:
- Between the UK, Europe, and USA, Scotland ranks #1 (per capita) for number of deaths caused by drugs. (For more info, click here) While this is an issue throughout the whole of Scotland, the schemes are places especially marked by the consequences of drugs and the hopelessness addiction brings. Please join me in fervent prayer that the light of the Gospel will spread in Scotland’s schemes and that people would be saved and filled with the sure hope of Christ.
- Praise God that He has compassion for the people of Scotland and that His Gospel is stronger than the darkness.

My local church has been so kind to support me with their prayers as I take steps to serve with 20schemes in August. They have set aside February to pray specifically for me and 20schemes. Here’s a view of my church’s missions board:
