“My heart cries out,
but I am not
afraid,
discouraged,
panicked,
forgotten,
alone,
dismayed,
or doubtful
because in the din
of a million voices
from every place,
in every situation,
young and old
crying day and night
in weakness,
in alienation,
in fear,
and in distress,
you are not
overwhelmed,
you are not
distracted,
you are not
disgusted,
you are not
discouraged,
you are not
exhausted.
But you listen,
you hear,
you attend to
my cry
in tenderness of
mercy,
in patience of
spirit, and with generosity of
love.
You listen to my plea and you never
turn
away.
But with power and wisdom
and the tender heart of a
Savior,
you do this amazing thing –
you answer.”

(“My Heart Cries Out” by Paul Tripp)

Ways you can pray:

  1. Praise God that He does the astounding thing of listening to our cries! In Christ we are never alone or forsaken. The number of people unreached by the Gospel may be overwhelming and even profoundly discouraging at times, but God is never overwhelmed. All is in His hands. And He hears His people’s cries with “tenderness of mercy.”
  2. 20schemes is hosting their bi-annual weekender conference in Edinburgh this March 13-15. This conference will be focused on a study of Proverbs and will be a time where people doing Gospel work in hard places, not only in Scotland but all over the world, will come to be encouraged. Please pray that the Holy Spirit would be at work during that weekend! (For more info about the conference, click here.)
  3. Please pray that God would sustain the indigenous interns who are working with 20schemes – these are people from the schemes who have given their life to Christ and are being discipled in ministry through 20schemes. (My role with 20schemes will also be an intern role, but I will be coming as a foreigner to the schemes – indigenous interns are priceless because they know their culture and have trust with the people in their schemes.) Pray that God would grow and strengthen them and that they would run with endurance!

Video for this week:

Katy is an indigenous intern with 20schemes. I had the joy of meeting her, and she’s the real deal – she hugs hard, she serves hard, and she loves the Lord Jesus. Please pray for her and the other indigenous interns. May God raise up whole churches of people indigenous to the schemes of Scotland!

God’s love is strong,
Claire
