“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? … And such were some of you.
But you were washed,
you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
– 1 Corinthians 6:9, 11
Ways you can pray:
1) Oh praise God that we have been washed! Not one of us deserve this, yet out of His great mercy and grace He has made righteous those like me who once were dead in sin. Let’s thank God for this! And let’s pray that the Lord would wash many in the schemes of Scotland for the honor of His name.
2) The recent virus outbreak has been affecting various aspects of 20schemes’ ministry because of the inability for groups of people to gather together. Please continue to pray for the pastors and Gospel workers and interns; let’s pray that the Lord will continue to cause Gospel ministry to flourish despite these obstacles.
3) Thank you for praying for the weekender conference last week; we can praise God that that time of encouragement was able to be held despite the virus outbreak.
picture for this week:
Andy Prime, church planter of Gracemount Community Church, tweeted this a couple months back: “Buzzing to being back at GCC today after holiday. A pal preached there last week and this was the feedback he text me about GCC after: [1] Never been hugged so much in a church. [2] Singing was blow-the-roof-off loud. [3] 1st question after my sermon: ‘Have you got a light?’” From what I saw of the 20schemes churches, I think this is an apt description 😊
This is one of my favorite 20schemes pictures. It was taken during a weekender conference in Niddrie.

I got to attend one of these weekender conferences last fall. The week leading up to the conference was one of the most gut-wrenching weeks for the 20schemes churches; there was so much grief and discouragement. But when we gathered together to worship God in the midst of that week, the singing was like the singing at GCC: “blow-the-roof-off loud.”
One of my favorite moments was when we were singing “Christ is Mine Forevermore.” You can hear it by clicking here (nobody except for the worship leader and sound guy knew that the singing was being recorded, so what you hear is the real deal). By the time it got to the bridge (about the 3:30 mark on the video), the singing was so heartfelt and loud that I knew I was getting a little taste of what it will be like in Zion City.
The believers in the schemes may be poor and surrounded by grief and turmoil; but they have Jesus and know that they are rich. They sing so loud because Jesus is their inheritance. May that be true of our churches here at home!
Fear is gone and hope is sure,
Claire
