“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:14-21
“He frees us from our secret shames. He looks at us – bowed, crippled with fear and self-pity and bitterness and anger and envy, weighed down by our sin and the filth that goes around in our mind sometimes – and He reaches out to us and says, ‘Here… Come here, child. Give me your burden. I’ll take that. Now, let me take that off your hands. Go in peace.’” – Mez McConnell, Sunday, 5.3.2020 (View the whole sermon by clicking here.)
Ways you can pray:
- We can thank the Lord that He is willing and able to do abundantly more than we ask or think…I pray for Him to be glorified in you and me, in the Church, in all generations, in the schemes of Scotland…let the glory of the Lord cover the earth as the waters cover the sea.
- We can pray that the new believers in the schemes would be strengthened, rooted, and grounded according to the riches of God’s glory.
- May we all get down on our knees and thank God for His sacrifice and abundant mercy!
- Because of complications caused by the virus, 20schemes decided this week to move my (and other’s) move-to-Scotland date from August to October. Part of this means that I will have until August to be funded. I would so appreciate you joining with me in expectant prayer for God’s continued provision so that I may be able to move to a scheme this year.
- Lord, come back soon, we pray!
Video for this week:
Steven Hutchison is the principal of the Ragged School of Theology. He is also extremely wise, gentle, courageous, brilliant, and on fire for the Lord to be made known in the schemes. This chat between Steven and Mez explains why 20schemes started the Ragged School, why it’s called Ragged School, how you train people for Gospel ministry in the schemes, and why it’s so close to 20scheme’s heart to especially train up indigenous people.
(As an aside, everyone who raises funds in order to join 20schemes for long-term or short-term ministry also raises funds to allow an indigenous person to be trained/enter ministry. This is vital because many of the people living in the schemes would otherwise not be able to afford ministry training. So I have the great joy of not only praying for the Lord to provide for me to be able to move to a scheme but also for a person living in the schemes to be able to be in ministry & attend Ragged, as well.)
If the Lord wills, I will be taking classes from the Ragged School for two years as a part of my Ministry Intern training. To learn more about Ragged, click here.
