“When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished, saying, ‘Who then can be saved?’ But Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’ Then Peter said in reply, ‘See, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?’ Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, I say to you, in the new world, when the Son of Man will sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name’s sake, will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.’” Matthew 19:25-30
Dear brothers and sisters in the Lord Jesus,
A year ago this Saturday (Reformation Day 2019) was the day that I accepted 20schemes’ offer to be a two-year Ministry Intern. Many of you have been praying for me and my desire to serve with 20schemes since that time or even before. Whether you have been walking with me in this process over the years or you have just started reading these posts, I want to thank you heartily for the steadfast support you have given to me. The fact that you regularly read these updates and support me with earnest prayer never ceases to amaze me; I praise God for each and every one of you. You are a great blessing and encouragement to me. Thank you.
It is wild to think on all that the Lord has done and all the prayers He has graciously, abundantly answered since last year. From providing the funds (through many of you!), to opening up a way for me to obtain a visa during Covid, to placing me with the wonderful folks in the 20schemes church plant in Merkinch, the Lord has shown His faithfulness and steadfast love again and again and again. I pray that the story of this last year will be a testament to the Lord’s greatness and tenderness as well as to His promise to answer us when we cry to Him. It doesn’t always look the way we picture it nor is it always according to what we want, but the Lord always provides what we need. “Those who look to Him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.” (Psalm 34:5) Praise be to Him!
This Sunday (in 4 days!) I will be starting my travels to Merkinch. I would appreciate your continued prayers this week as I say goodbye to my family and as I make the last preparations for moving. My heart’s desire is for God to be honored and praised throughout this transition. Please do pray for me, as well, as I start my two-week quarantine when I arrive in Merkinch. May God be honored during that time, too! And if the Lord wills, the next update I send out will be from Scotland…praise be to God!
I am honored by your support and will continue lifting you up to our Good Shepherd. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” (Romans 15:13)
With great joy and thankfulness,
Claire
