“When the earth beneath me crumbles and quakes

Not a sparrow falls, nor a hair from my head

Without His hand to guide me, my shield and my strength

In joy or in sorrow, in life or in death” – Sandra McCracken

Dear Family in Christ,

I’m in Scotland!!

I arrived safely in Inverness on Monday and am now in the midst of my fourteen days of quarantine. And as I look around my room in Merkinch, I think of all the many, many prayers we have offered up to our Good Shepherd in asking for this to be made possible. How He has answered! He is truly the Almighty. And He has truly been my guide, my shield, and my strength throughout all the preparations and waiting – and also now in the arriving. I’m overwhelmed by His goodness, and I’m grateful for His faithfulness in providing you to pray alongside me in this calling. Thank you, thank you for your support in prayer!

A FEW PICTURES:

My first views of Scotland and Inverness as I flew in…a beautiful, rugged place that needs the Gospel of the Lord Jesus.

I am living with Chris and Katherine Davidson who continue to pour out immense kindness on me as I join their home and look forward to joining their church and team. The picture below is of jolly Chris picking me up at the airport.

Being in quarantine, I haven’t seen much of the scheme I’m living in yet. But here is a view of Merkinch out of one of the Davidson’s windows…please pray for our scheme!

And I’m now on 20schemes’ Scotland map. Grace upon grace.

WAYS YOU CAN PRAY:

  1. Prayers of thanksgiving to the Lord!! I praise Him for new mercies every morning, for safe travels here, and for so abundantly providing the way and the means to come. And also for the Davidson’s generous welcome and for Merkinch Free Church!
  2. Please also pray for the Lord’s grace on me as I quarantine for the next few days and as I seek to adjust to a new place and time zone. May this time of new beginnings be one of much joy and trust in Jesus. Thank you!

His eye is on the sparrow,

Claire
