Family in Christ,
We have been put under full lockdown in Scotland for at least the remainder of January (because Covid numbers have spiked here). This means that our launch team won’t be able to gather, we can’t go in people’s homes, and we can’t walk with more than two people outside. So many people are discouraged about this lockdown news, but in many ways this is a huge, exciting opportunity. This is a wonderful time to be here in the schemes because people are so thirsty for hope and everybody is looking for some light. And we have the privilege of being here to pray for them and to tell them about the hope we have in Jesus!
Our team here has been praying for opportunities to share the Gospel with people in our community, and the Lord in His faithfulness has been opening doors for that.
We have been praying earnestly for Paul* who lives across the street from me. Paul is a well-known guy in our scheme partly because he is a drug dealer. Tonight he came to Hot Meals (our ministry where we make a weekly meal in the winter months for people who are struggling), and as I looked at his face with his scars and bloody eye all I could see was a man so desperately lost and in need of Jesus. And the Lord answered our prayers and gave me and two other team members an opportunity to share the Gospel with Paul tonight. Please join us in praying for Paul and everyone who is in his house with him. Pray for them to be saved! Only God can bring that salvation, and we would love for you to join us in asking Him for that mercy and grace upon Paul and his household. “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?” Jeremiah 32:27
To know that you are faithfully praying for us is a great encouragement. Thank you! I have never felt the war we are in so strongly as I’ve felt it here. Please do keep praying for God’s protection and strength for our team – and for the Lord’s Kingdom to come here to Merkinch.
Grace & Peace,
Claire
