“Our ministry is unprofitable, and our labor is vain, until you are brought to your knees.” – J.C. Ryle
HIGHLIGHTS FROM THIS WEEK:
Thursday: launch team prayer meeting. One of the prayers that really affected me that night was, “Lord, we know that you promise to do abundantly more than we could ask or imagine, and we know that sometimes the answer to that promise is that we get to share in the sufferings of Christ.”

Friday: my desk in our church hall. This week I have been plodding on in Ragged School studies as well as the work of creating our church’s philosophy of children’s ministry.

Saturday: another Zoom! I was glad to have the opportunity to attend a webinar this past weekend on how to better love and serve those who struggle with severe anxiety and depression.

Sunday: our weekly launch team meeting. At our launch team catch-up on Sunday, my pal Cate and I got to both share our testimonies of the Lord’s saving work in our lives. Really encouraging to see the team even on Zoom and get to talk about the Lord’s great faithfulness.

Monday: my scheme. After desk work and meetings, I got to walk around the scheme for a bit, and I saw the sun peak out as it set over the icy water. We live in a beautiful scheme, and a lot of the deprivation here can be hidden to those just passing by. But living here has given me a greater insight into just how dark our community is and how much we need the light of the Savior. Just as the light of the sun on Monday beautifully transformed a place so often covered in clouds, so I know that Jesus has the power to transform a community covered in the darkness of sin and death.

Tuesday: the three amigos…I was officially added to the team pictures on our church website. 🙂

Wednesday: I forgot to take a picture of Hot Meals today, but that was definitely a highlight of the week. Hot Meals day is exciting as it enables us to keep getting to talk with folks during lockdown and keep up relationships with the people we know in the scheme. I was encouraged by how I knew many of the people that came today for some hot Mince & Tatties. It’s an honor to get to live with these folks and share the love and good news of Jesus.
THANK YOU:
I am ever grateful that you are supporting me and the team here with your prayer. Thank you. It is a joy and privilege to labor with you in the Gospel!
May the joy of Jesus be with you,
Claire
