We’re buzzing around here because the news has it that we will most likely be able to meet in person as a launch team starting a week from Sunday. We are itching to be able to see one another in person and be able to do life together more fully again. There will still be restrictions in place about not being able to go into one another’s homes, etc., but this is an encouraging step. Please do continue pray for patience for us as we wait for restrictions to loosen up – and for the wisdom to seize this time as a time of rest and of preparing and prayer for whatever lies ahead of us. Please keep praying for our scheme, too. It is hard to see so many people really struggling mentally and with drugs and alcohol during this lockdown. And please pray for Chris and Cristi and I as we take time to pray about what evangelism and discipleship could look like for our launch team in the year ahead.

We’ve continued running our weekly Hot Meals ministry during lockdown, and today we ran out of food in an hour. We hope to be able to transition Hot Meals into a community night where folks can come to the church hall for dinner and talk about the Gospel during a Christianity Explored course. In the meantime, please pray for the relationships we have begun with the people who come around for food every week; please pray that we would be able to get to know these folks and that they would trust us and feel welcomed & valued.

I’ve continued to hunker down on Ragged School studies, too, and it has been such a gift to be able to study. Please pray for me, too, as I walk the streets, get to know folks, and as I also pray through what a Christ-honouring youth ministry would look like for our church when the time comes for us to launch.
