Looking Ahead:
Yesterday the Scottish government gave the go-ahead for churches to start meeting this Sunday with up to fifty people allowed. Praise be to God!
Chris is planning to preach on the cross this Sunday out of John 19. And what is exciting is that a few people from Merkinch have already said that they want to join our gathering; this is an amazing kindness from the Lord that a few more people in our community will hear the Gospel this weekend. Please pray for us this Sunday!
“And Jesus cried out and said, ‘Whoever believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. And whoever sees me sees him who sent me. I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.’” John 12:44-46

Also, with the Covid restrictions changing and starting to lift, Chris and Cristi and I will be setting aside this Monday to pray and plan about how to best move forward in outreach and as a launch team this year. Please pray for wisdom for us and for us to be humble and sensitive to God’s leading.
Looking Behind:
Last night Chris and Katherine and I were saying how crazy it is that I will be entering into my sixth month living in Merkinch. Almost a quarter of my time here! Katherine asked if I still would have come if I had known that we would have been in lockdown for so long, and I said “absolutely.” I knew that would be part of the cost – as well as part of the joy…I’ve been knit into the launch team in a special way as we’ve all tried to press forward together in God’s strength during this season. It is truly a gift to be in a community of believers who love Jesus so deeply. I am amazed at how many opportunities the Lord has given us to get to know folks in Merkinch even in the midst of lockdown, too. Nothing is beyond Him.
Thank you for your continued prayers for me and for the team here. Each day I see my own neediness and God’s sufficiency more clearly. I can truly say that I love Jesus more because of my time here in Merkinch. I pray that many in our community will come to know and love our dear Savior, too.
I will trust my saviour Jesus / Trust Him when my strength is small / For I know the shield of Jesus / Is the safest place of all / Jesus, only Jesus / Help me trust You more and more / Jesus, only Jesus / May my heart be ever Yours / I will trust my saviour Jesus / He has said His way is best / And I know the path He’s chosen / Leads to everlasting rest // (CityAlight)
Hold fast,
Claire
