Brothers & sisters in Christ,
I’m writing this on a train as I head back up to Inverness after spending a few days in Edinburgh. I was able to go down to Niddrie with dear friend & church manager Cristi to see folks in Niddrie face to face, take part in the monthly gathering for all the 20schemes women, and be in-person for Ragged exams for my Church in Hard Places class.
I’m so very thankful to the Lord for the time I was able to spend down south. I have such great love for my brothers and sisters in Niddrie, and that always fills me with joy because I know that is the Lord’s work in unifying us together as the body of Christ. Also it was just so good to see the church there after a year and a half!
Please continue to pray for everyone at Niddrie. They do such great work and have been persevering with much joy in the midst of this hard, wonky year. Please also keep praying for the staff of 20schemes.(For those new to these updates, 20schemes is the ministry I get to serve with. It is the church planting ministry of Niddrie Community Church that seeks to plant & revitalize Gospel-preaching churches in Scotland’s schemes. Click here for more info.) I and everybody up in Merkinch are extremely grateful for the support of 20schemes…and I am only all the more grateful for 20schemes considering that many churches in hard places don’t have the kind of camaraderie and support that they give to us. So thanks be to God for His wisdom in giving us the faithful ministry of 20schemes!
And thank you for your own support and prayers for me and the wee team in Merkinch. You are much needed and so very appreciated. I thank God for you.
Stick close to Jesus,
Claire
