Family in Christ,
I have been very encouraged by reflecting upon Revelation 5 this week. It is so easy to get weighed down by feelings of tiredness or discouragement, but verses 9-10 lift my eyes to why we are here in Merkinch. Even in the weeks, months, or years we don’t see much change or fruit, every moment here will still be completely worth it…because Jesus is worthy!!
“Worthy are you to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God
from every tribe and language and people and nation,
and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God,
and they shall reign on the earth.”
Amen and amen.

Above: Ed reading 1 Peter chapter 1 to us last Sunday… “In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”
Ways you can pray:
I have been praying for God’s leading with how to reach out to our community, and I have been drawn more and more to focusing on reaching out to the kids in our scheme. Chris has also been keen to get me focused more on youth ministry. Please pray for me in this! Please pray for God’s mercy, peace, and love to be multiplied to me (Jude 1) and to our whole team as we slowly build relationships with kids in our community, look for opportunities to meet kids at the local Primary School, and think forward with creative ideas of how to reach out to families in Merkinch.
Also, Chris and I will be travelling down to Glasgow for a day next week to do some yearly training with 20schemes. Please pray for that time to be a refreshment, especially for Chris!
