Dear friends,
It’s been another week of praying and seeking to be faithful in the work here. And that is indeed the big news of the week, that God has given us the supernatural strength to keep walking with Him. I praise God for that!
Below are a few ways you can be praying for us…
Chris was on the 20schemes podcast the other week, and he did a super job. He talks about what our community here in Merkinch is like, some of the specific challenges we face, church planting in the north of Scotland, and why we are praying for more people to come join us in the work here. If you haven’t already seen it, this podcast will give you a good taste for what life and ministry in Merkinch is like. And it will give you more ways to pray for us! 🙂
Also, the 20schemes weekender conference is coming up in a few weeks (October 29-30). It’s about Faith in the Chaos of Life. It will be held in person in Edinburgh but will also be livestreamed/recorded online, and you can get tickets here. Please pray that this will be a time of refreshment and encouragement to weary souls. And please do pray for me as I prepare to speak about kindness at the women’s pre-conference…I dearly need God’s help and wisdom!

And one last request for prayer… There is an old hymn that goes something like, “Weary, working, burdened one, / Wherefore toil you so? / Cease your doing; all was done / Long, long ago. … Cast your deadly ‘doing’ down – / Down at Jesus’ feet / Stand in Him, in Him alone, / Gloriously complete.” I am daily reminded that ministry isn’t first about our doing. It is first and foremost about abiding. It is only from abiding in the Vine that we will be able to rest in Him, bear the fruit of righteousness, and truly be about His work. So, as our team heads into another week, will you pray that we will lay any of our “deadly doing” down and walk in the grace, strength, and wisdom of the Spirit?
Thank you for interceding for us! I hope you know how grateful I am for you and for your constant support!
Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus,
Claire
