Family in Christ & dear supporters,

I am down south this week as part of work for 20schemes. I was in Glasgow Monday and Tuesday and am now with the 20schemes churches in Edinburgh. It was good to be in-person for Ragged classes today…below is a picture of our “Overview of the Bible” class.

I’ll also be here in Edinburgh for the 20schemes weekender this Friday and Saturday. Would you be praying for that time? It’s the first weekender in a long time that folks from all the 20schemes churches will be able to be in-person together to worship the Lord and to encourage one another. Would you pray that it will be a Spirit-led time of great joy and encouragement? Also, will you pray for me as I speak about kindness at the women’s pre-conference on Friday?

One more ask for prayer….our Merkinch plant is starting a weekly Breakthrough group this Friday. This is where people from our community can come sit down with Chris and chat through what the Bible says about addiction, mental health, and the hope of Jesus. Please will you pray for these times…especially for Chris and also for whoever comes from Merkinch?

Thank you for reading these updates and for truly caring about God’s church in the schemes of Scotland. I have been thanking God for you who labour in prayer for us…thanks be to our Father of mercies!

I’ve been thinking a lot about Philippians 3 this week, so I’ll leave you with some words from verses 7-14…what a declaration of hope! “…whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith— that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on towards the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Amen & Amen…the surpassing worth of knowing Jesus….folks, keep your eyes fixed on our dear Lord Jesus!! Forget what lies behind, strain forward to what lies ahead,

Claire

Above: getting to share Romans 3 with the women staff of 20schemes this past Tuesday. What a chapter!! How I love the Gospel of our dear Lord Jesus. Desperate for the housing schemes of Scotland to hear this good news.
