Her brow crinkled as she looked at my little stick-figure drawing of the gospel. And then she looked at me and smiled wide. “Wait. What? You mean to say that Jesus died on a cross for people who sinned against God? And that he died even though he didn’t sin? No other god would do that! There’s no other god that would do that! He really must be a pretty good God really. He is a good God to do that!”

Yes, friends. The Gospel is good news about a Good God. And while the message of the cross may be foolishness to those who are perishing, to those of us who are being saved it is the power and wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:23-24). We are spending our lives to proclaim this good news. So please pray for us. And please pray for the people in our neighbourhood. Pray that they will come to know and be known by Jesus. For there is salvation, life, and hope through no other but our gracious Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

(^our wee church hall all ready for corporate worship!)

Thanks for all your excitement and prayers about the holiday club we are hoping to put on in April for the children here. I have finished planning the schedule and all of the talks and activities. Yay! Next step is to organise it all and get all the supplies. Will you pray for me in this? I’ve never organised an event like this before, and sometimes it “does my head in” as the folks around here say.

In other news, the sun came out on Saturday! Due to the long stretches of greyness and rain in the highlands, we jokingly call the sun our UFO. Had a wonderful walk along a beach with friends. The sand was frosty in areas and the cliffs glittered white with snow. The beauty was good for my soul because it reminded me of the One who made it all. He’s the same One who sustains us day by day here in Merkinch. Bless the Lord O my soul, and all that is within me; in the hard times and the good, bless His holy name. (Psalm 103)

Thanks for your prayers for us. Thanks for investing in this work…it’s an eternal investment!

Grace & Peace,

Claire
