Dear friends,

It’s been a while since I last wrote… I ended up taking some time off after our holiday club week, and then last week I was with the 20schemes church in Niddrie. Thanks for your continued prayers for me and for the ministry in Merkinch and the work of 20schemes as a whole. Your prayers are much needed!

Speaking of the holiday club week, God answered our prayers…it went really well. All praise to Him! Thank you for walking with us in generosity and prayer; the week wouldn’t have happened without you all and your faithful ministry of prayer. It was such an honour to get to spend time with the kids, to have fun and laugh with them, and to share Jesus with them. My favourite part of each day was hearing the children singing…by the end of the week they knew all of the words to three songs including “Jesus, Strong and Kind.” It brought tears to my eyes to hear them singing with all their might about our Saviour. And it has been my continued prayer since that week that they might remember those words and melodies…that the truth of the gospel might be stored up in their hearts.

“For the Lord is good and faithful / He will keep us day and night / We can always run to Jesus / Jesus, strong and kind”

I also loved seeing the look on some of their faces when we told them about Jesus rising from the dead. Some of them hadn’t heard that part of the gospel story before, so it was beautiful to see their eyes get wide with amazement and wonder. Isn’t the gospel such very good and quite surprising news?!

And we got to have a bbq with the children’s families on the last day of the holiday club. That was great time just to hang out and to meet the parents and siblings and get to chat with them. Will you pray for these families that they would seek Jesus?

With the holiday club behind us, this week I’ve jumped back into reading the Bible with folks and helping out in the life of the church however I can. Would you pray for opportunities to get to share the love and the gospel of our Lord Jesus?

And for me personally, I have been deeply weary inside and out. Will you pray for me? Especially that I might persevere with joy. Thank you, friends. Each day I live I learn more about the faithful, strong grace of the Lord…He is with us, and He will carry us to the end.

“Afflicted saint, to Christ draw near, / Your Savior’s gracious promise hear; / His faithful Word you can believe: / That as your days your strength shall be.

So, sing with joy, afflicted one; / The battle’s fierce, but the victory’s won! / God shall supply all that you need; / Yes, as your days your strength shall be.”

As your days your strength shall be,

Claire
