“Grace means you can never say that it’s too hard, that you’ve been left on your own, or that you simply don’t have enough. … Ultimately, human rest is not found in measuring the size of your righteousness, strength, and wisdom against the size of what you’re facing. No, rest is found when you compare the size of what you’re facing to the person, presence, character, power, and grace of the One who is with you wherever you go. What is God’s best gift of grace? The answer is easy – himself.” – Paul Tripp

HOW YOU CAN PRAY:

  1. Thank you, thank you for your steadfast prayers for me and for 20schemes. It is incredibly heartening to know that the people of God are praying alongside me. Please do keep praying that I would walk according to the grace of God as I prepare to leave for Scotland soon; pray that I would go forward in the strength of His might.
  2. I went down to D.C. this past Friday to finish the visa application process and get the visa decision expedited. I praise God that He has provided a way for this to happen! Please continue to pray that the visa application would have a quick turnaround so that I can leave November 1st if that is what God wills.

PICTURE FOR THIS WEEK:

Here’s the street in D.C. I went to when going to the visa processing center last Friday. Seeing all the buildings in the city reminded me of the words in Psalm 46: “Step out of the traffic! Take a long, loving look at me, your High God, above politics, above everything.”

Having humility before the Lord really is the wind in the sails of missions because a rightful fear of the Lord leads to a fearless life. Please pray that I may have the humility to live every day for the glory of the One who is above politics, above me, above you, above visa processing centers, above everything. And may we as God’s people have great rest and excitement this week in knowing that God’s best gift of grace – Himself – is with us wherever we go.

Jesus is with us always, to the end of the age (Matthew 28),
